Likkle Lightning (aka Christopher M Campbell) was born in Kingston, Jamaica and lived with his mother in the city. During vacations, he visited his father, grandparents and family on their farm in Westmoreland, in the west of Jamaica. At vacation end, he never wanted to return to the city and eventually moved permanently to the farm at the age of 13. On the farm, he learned to love nature and realized the value of hard work to support family. This life led him to write the song “Early Morning Flash” which illustrates nature’s ways of life. He also learned the simplicity and hardships of life with a large family in a small house, leading him to compose other songs about nature, God, and the peacefulness of country life versus the gang life of Kingston.

Likkle Lightning’s father was a woodcarver and taught him sculpture in wood. While carving, Likkle Lightning continued to compose unique songs incorporating influences from the great reggae artists of the time, such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Beres Hammond and Freddie McGregor. He frequently visited Negril Beach, which is close to the family farm. This beach is famous for its reggae parties, and he took advantage of every opportunity to watch the performing artists and to occasionally be allowed to perform single songs himself.

Likkle Lightning now alternates between life in New York and Jamaica. He has had opportunities to perform on shows in Jamaica with artists such as King Yellowman, Professor Nuts, Luciano and Sizzla, in addition to many local events. He has had interviews on Links FM radio and in the Jamaica Star newspaper. In the USA, Likkle Lightning has performed at several venues in New York, NY and Birmingham, AL. Each venue performance has increased his experience and creativity. Likkle Lightning is full of respect and joy for opportunities to make his music available to a broader audience. .

Likkle Lightning is represented by Maria Jackson Entertainment. Anyone wanting to work with him may contact MJE atbookings@mjent.net or via phone (876) 313-6319
