
One of The Gambia’s finest music groups (Kerr Gi Family),recently released a new single titled ‘Fatou’, produced at two of the country’s finest recording studious notably; Sunland Music by Hakim and Gensis by Sambou D Unstoppable.
It came at a time when the group is also working ahead of the grand launching of its new EP called ‘Naatalu’ which will be launch on November 7 at Alliance Francaise along Kairaba Avenue.
Speaking to What’s On, Barhama Cham of Kerr Gi Family disclosed that they named the song after ‘Fatou’ because they realised that the name is a household name within the Senegambian.
According to him, the songs is dedicated to all the mothers especially those with the name ‘Fatou’ like his mother, noting that the song is one of this best songs they’ve ever released.
He expressed optimism that when the song is official out would make headway in the country’s music scene, as it is full of quality full of positive vibes.
‘I love the song because we higher international instrumentalists to come and record live with is really good. We are hoping to win the kora award one day ‘Inshaallah’.
Poliman, another member of the group, disclosed that Gambian fans should expect more quality songs from them, as Kerr Gi Family are ever committed to produce good and quality product in their quest to hit the international markets.
He thus assured Gambians that ‘Naatalu EP’ will be the best launching party ever in 2015 and called on their fans to make it a date.
Poliman as affectionately called also advised his fellow artists to invest in music, so that the industry will grow bigger and better. ‘Let’s work harder and come together as one and send good messages because we are the voice of the voiceless.’
He however heaped praises on Uncle Oussou Njie Senor, STS, ‘Waa Kerr Gi’ and every one behind the group.
